About Finnoly
Finnoly exists to make the basics of money easy to understand, and to show you what they mean with today's real numbers.
What we do
Most personal finance questions come down to a few ideas: interest, inflation, risk and taxes. We explain those ideas in plain English and pair each guide with a free calculator, so you can go from "what does this mean?" to "what does this mean for me?" in a few minutes.
Where our numbers come from
Rates and inflation figures on Finnoly come from official sources: the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Treasury, Freddie Mac and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, accessed through FRED®, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis's public database. Our pages refresh automatically every day, so the numbers you see are current. Every guide lists its sources.
How we create content
Our guides are researched and drafted with the help of AI writing tools and checked against the primary sources we cite. We focus on durable fundamentals rather than predictions or product pitches. If you spot an error, please tell us. We correct mistakes promptly and update the page date when we do.
What we don't do
- We don't give personalized financial, tax or investment advice. See our disclaimer.
- We don't collect what you type into our calculators. They run entirely in your browser.
- We don't let advertisers write or influence our guides.
How we make money
Finnoly is free to use and is supported by advertising. Ads are clearly separated from our content.
